Will you extend coverage automatically if my car breaks down while travelling out of province?

An Automatic Extension of Coverage of 72 hours may be applicable if one of these situations occur:

  • the delay of a common carrier in which you are a passenger causes you to miss your scheduled return to your province or territory of residence;
  • the personal vehicle in which you are travelling is involved in an accident or mechanical breakdown that prevents you from returning to your province or territory of residence on or before your day of return;

or

  • you must delay your day of return to your province or territory of residence by the personal means of transportation in which you are travelling, due to extreme weather conditions on your day of return.
